Ambassador's welcoming remarks at the opening of Oxana Alexandrova's paintings exhition "Images of Russia" (Russian Centre of Science and Culture, Kuala Lumpur, October 29, 2017)

Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen!

It's my pleasure to welcome you today to the official launch of the exhibition "Images of Russia" by the Russian artist Oxana Alexandrova.

Oxana is a graduate of the famous Saint Petersburg Academy of Arts and an adherent of realistic academic school of painting. She draws in different styles and you have a chance to observe full diversity of her paintings today. It's also worth saying that certain number of Oxana's pictures are exhibited in some museums of Russia.

The theme of today's exhibition is "Images of Russia". There are landscapes from different parts of our country (from Saint Petersburg to Crimea region), as well as still-lives paintings with ancient utensils and portraits of Russians in traditional costumes. Her pictures have a touch of Russian soul and heart.

I would like to thank all those people who made this exhibition possible and helped Oxana to bring her wonderful paintings to Kuala Lumpur. We also would like to express our gratitude to her patron Mr. David Liu for his assistance and support to arrange this event. And we wish Oxana every success in her further creations.
