Information for foreign nationals on sanitary and epidemiological control rules when entering the Russian Federation
As Russia gradually resumes regular flights and continues organizing special repatriation flights, all persons entering by air transport are reminded to comply with the sanitary and epidemiological control rules when entering the territory of the Russian Federation.
Foreign citizens and stateless persons, when boarding an aircraft traveling to the territory of the Russian Federation (both regular and special repatriation flights), including those in transit, and when crossing the State Border of the Russian Federation, must ensure that they have a medical document confirming the negative result of a laboratory PCR swab test for COVID-19, done no earlier than three calendar days before arrival in Russia.
The document must be in Russian or English. If the document is issued in another language, a Russian translation certified by a consular official of the Russian Federation is required.
Before arriving in Russia, a passenger must also fill out a special arrival form.
For persons arriving for the purpose of carrying out labor activities, the requirement to serve a 14-day self-isolation remains.
If any respiratory symptoms appear after arrival, you should immediately seek medical help at home without visiting medical organizations.
Important notice: Entry is allowed only for certain categories of foreign nationals according to the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation №635-p.
The Russian Federation imposes an entry ban for foreign passport holders from March 18 till May 1, 2020.
In this regard the Consular Department of the Embassy has stopped accepting visa applications.
The ban will not be applicable to employees of diplomatic missions and consular establishments in Russia and their families, drivers of motor vehicles serving international routes, aircraft, ship and railway crews, members of official delegations, as well as holders of diplomatic, service and regular private visas arriving in Russia due to the death of close relative, and air transit air passengers. For such categories the procedure of applying for visa has not changed.
